My name is Tony Urban (obviously) and I’m a full time photographer in Western Pennsylvania. “Full time” meaning that I own and operate my own studio and oftentimes am shooting photos 7 days a week. I’ve been full time for the past 5 years and in that time have photographed dozens of weddings and hundreds of seniors. I also shoot the occasional family photo session and shoot maternity (belly) photos and fine art boudoir photos (but not the cheesy, 80s glam shots with feather boas you’re probably thinking of).
When it comes to weddings, I think it’s important to choose a photographer you “click” with. I’m extremely laid back and easy going. When it comes to wedding photography, I’d say my style is a perfect mix of photojournalistic and posed photos. For 90% of your wedding day I’m going to be documenting the events as they happen with no direction or posing. In other words, I’m not the type of photographer who’s going to stop you while you’re dancing and ask you to smile for the camera. At the same time, I know most couples are going to want some awesome posed photos and that’s what I’ll do for you during the scheduled “photo time” portions of the day. I don’t need a ton of time to give you amazing posed portraits, 1 hour is plenty – and trust me, you’ll have a fantastic time posing for the camera, even if you say you hate having your photo taken.
With senior photos, you’ll find I’m very different from the average senior photographer. I don’t do strict posing. I’m not going to be correcting every head tilt or elbow bend. I’m not going to make you hug a tree or pose you in front of cheesy studio props. I shoot 99% outdoors, on location. My photos are filled with bright, vivid colors and are FUN and will make you look AMAZING!
Outside of photography, I’m very easy going and relaxed. I don’t stress out over many things and I love life. I love movies (especially scary ones). I love going to the drive-in. I really love going on road trips. In the past 2 years, I’ve traveled to and through 20 states and I won’t be slowing down any time soon. I go to movie conventions to meet actors. I have a huge DVD collection (you should see it, I could open my own rental store!). I love reading (most of all Stephen King). I love animals and we have a dog named Eli who travels everywhere with us and who is a big part of our family. I also love reality TV (from the classy to the trashy – it’s all good)!
But I can’t separate photography from my day to day life and it’s rare that I don’t have a camera at my side or in the car. Whether it’s a paid gig or just taking photos of people I meet through traveling, I can’t imagine not using my camera to document the world around me.

My hope is to develop a relationship with you. Whether you are a bride, a groom, a senior, a mom or a fellow photographer, I want to get to know you. In addition, I want share my love of life and my love of photography with you in some way.
