After a weekend of wedding photography in Somerset, yesterday Sharon and I were back in Pittsburgh to shoot Robin and Jason’s wedding. We started the day at the Holiday Inn in Oakland where we shot Robin’s prep photos as Robin and the bridesmaids got ready. Also at the hotel, April Schwietz of Mocha Rose Floral Designs dropped off the beautiful bouquets. I loved the colors and they were all so fresh and full!
I could tell right away that Robin and her friends were going to be a fun group and as they day progressed fun proved to be an understatement. Everyone was so friendly and outgoing and just a blast to work with. Just check out the champagne shot below if you need proof!
Once things wrapped up at the hotel, we headed to the Dusquene University Chapel for the ceremony. The church was so beautiful and Sharon got some great shots from the balcony while I stayed downstairs.
After the ceremony, we took some photos around the campus at Duquesne University and then headed over to The University of Pittsburgh for some more shots. I loved the gothic architecture at Pitt – it’s so dramatic. The sky kept threatening rain, but we lucked out and only had a few raindrop. Hooray!
The reception kicked off at the Twentieth Century Club, where we’ve worked several times in the past. All of the decorations were lovely – so personal and unique. And the cookie table?! All I can say is “WOW” – Talk about impressive! The crowd was great, keeping the dance floor packed most of the night. I also have to give major props to DJ Eric Scheimer of Scheimer Entertainment who is one of the best DJs in Pittsburgh. He kept things rocking and there was never a dull moment.
All in all, the day was fantastic and so much fun! Congrats, Robin & Jason and thanks for being such a kind and wonderful couple!
