Yesterday I had my first senior photo shoot with Steven. We had a great time hitting some new locations in and around Somerset. Steven had some neat ideas and wanted shots with his car, laptop and at his favorite coffee house – Starbucks! I really enjoy working with guys as the photos are such a different style, different types of locations, etc. It’s a nice change of pace and I wish I could have had cool photos taken when I graduated!
It was a really fun shoot and I can’t wait to work with him again later this summer!

Saturday Sharon and I shot our first wedding of 2009. The day started off with a 2 hour drive as headed out toward the Pittsburgh airport to meet Emily and Rick at the Crown Royal Plaza in Coraoplis. Once we arrived, the fun began. Rick and Emily are two of the kindest people I’ve ever met and I loved that they had their dog, Fozzie, involved in their big day. The families of the bride and groom were equally warm and welcoming and it really made the “prep” part of the day a blast.

The ceremony, held in one of the ballrooms at the Plaza, was so romantic and sweet. Emily’s mom was beaming as she walked her daughter down the aisle!

It had been raining off and one all day long, so the planned excursion to a park for outdoor portraits was scuttled at the last minute, but we still managed to sneak off for some shots of the bride and groom before the reception started up. I think we beat the rain by about 5 minutes!

Rick and Emily’s reception was so much fun! Their guests had the dance floor filled most of the night and everyone was letting loose. Oh, and the food was yummy! I could’ve taken a hundred photos of the cookies and sweets alone. And wait until you see the groom’s cake in the slideshow – it was incredible. Also in the slideshow you’ll get to check out the bouquet toss in its entirety. It’s a “can’t miss” series, I promise you that! So check back in a couple days to see even more photos from Emily and Rick’s beautiful wedding.

I just realized that, despite the fact that I spend a ridiculous amount of time on social networking sites, I’ve never posted the links to my profiles on my blog. So, here you go.
I’m also on Twitter, but I really don’t “get it” and as a result I post an update about once every three months. And that kind of defeats the purpose.
Oh, and I’m shooting my first wedding of 2009 tomorrow. Woo hoo!![]()

After several days of rainy, ugly weather we finally had a break and I put the sunny weather to good use by shooting Crystal’s senior photos. Crystal is my spokes model at one of the local schools and I had actually shot her sister’s wedding in ’07. I had so much fun working with her and it was great to get back to work. Now if only the nice weather can hold out!![]()
