I’m not the typical senior photographer
Having your senior photos made should be FUN. Want to look like a fashion model? An all-star athlete? A rock star? Do you want your photos to look like a CD cover or a movie poster?
I LISTEN to my clients and work hard to create images over which they’ll go crazy. I use top of the line digital cameras and the best lighting equipment available to ensure that your photos are everything you dreamed about and more. I don’t try to fit you into a box and I won’t give you photos that look the same as everyone else’s. You’re unique and your photos will be too.
I wouldn’t be in this business unless I knew that I could create absolutely amazing images for my clients.
How am I, Tony Urban, different from all of the other senior photo studios in Somerset and Johnstown? Here are a few examples.
Photo shoots are FREE. Yep, you read that right. You don’t pay a session fee. You don’t pay a sitting fee. Your shoot is completely free.
I don’t charge extra for poses. Want to order prints of 1 pose? Fine, go ahead. Want to order prints of 10 poses? That’s cool with me. 25 poses? Go for it. I don’t charge you one extra penny whether you want prints of 1 pose or 50. Can it get any easier than that? I don’t think so.
I don’t charge extra for multiple locations. Want to have photos taken at 5 different locations? I’ll do it. 20? It might be rushed, but let’s give it a shot. We’ll hit as many locations as you can fit into your shoot.
I don’t charge extra for multiple outfits. Want to have photos taken in 3 sports uniforms, a formal dress and 10 of your favorite casual outfits? I say go for it! Oh, and bring some cool accessories while you’re at it.
You don’t pay anything for props/pets/friends/family. Want to have portraits made with your car? Your guitar? Your 20 piece drum kit? Your dog? Your horse? Your monkey (just checking to see if you’re paying attention)? Your BFF? Your sister? Your mother? There’s no charge for that.
It wasn’t that long ago that I graduated from high school and one thing I certainly remember is the confusing process of having my senior photos taken. There were portrait units and pose limits. There were awkward poses that the photographer made EVERYONE do (seriously, I can show you my yearbook – everyone is posed the exact same way – we look like 200 clones). There were cheesy backdrops and ugly props (which look even worse today).
I’m different because I make your photos about you.
Think outside the box
I’m always looking for inspiration. Movies. Music videos. Catalogs. Ad campaigns. Magazines. Etc. I don’t like boring, cheesy, traditional photos and I won’t make you sit for them. Don’t get me wrong, we’ll still get TONS of photos that mom and grandma will LOVE, but they’ll be contemporary and stylish and classic. Not something that you’ll look back on in 5 years and go, “What the heck was I thinking?!?!?”
I work tirelessly to give my seniors incredible photos and that’s why I don’t charge extra fees for things like retouching. I greatly encourage my seniors to share their input with me. If you have ideas, no matter how crazy you might think it is, tell me. I want to learn about your personality, your likes, your dislikes, etc. Tell me your favorite colors – your favorite hobby – your favorite places – and I’ll try to incorporate it into your photos. Because these are YOUR photos. The most important photos you’ll have taken in your life (aside from your wedding, of course) so let’s make them AMAZING!
As for the studio – who needs it? Typically, all I shoot inside the studio are formal photos (aka yearbook shots). Everything else is shot at real locations and as a result, the photos have so much more life and excitement. That doesn’t mean we can’t shoot indoors. I’ve shot in gymnasiums, coffee houses, rec rooms, dance studios, indoor pools, sports stadiums, theatres, even in client’s bedrooms!
Just imagine if you’re an athlete. Isn’t it more fun to have your photos taken at the actual locations and not in front of some fake prop inside my studio? Like to chill out listening to your iPod and drinking a double mocha latte? Starbucks here we come! Want to show off your enormous collection of designer shoes? Why not shoot it at your house instead of against a fake backdrop. Or maybe you’re a singer or a musician? Let’s throw a spotlight on you and get you up on the stage. The WORLD is our studio!
Rewards
One of my favorite things about shooting senior photos is meeting cool people and being able to give away free stuff to clients who tell their friends about me. In 2009, I’m offering a bonus program. If you refer a friend to me, be sure they mention your name when they book their shoot because you get a $20 print credit.
(almost) No Waiting
Everyone hates to wait. I know I do. So, why wait for months to see your senior photos? For seniors, I’ll have your photos edited and ready to view within 7 days. That’s right, 7 days. And EVERY IMAGE IS EDITED. Most studios only edit what you buy. But I want every image to look as incredible as possible, so I fully edit every single image you’ll view (usually over 40).
Once you submit your print order to me, I will have your prints ready for pick up within 14 days (usually much less, but the postal system can be a little show occasionally). 1 week for proofs. 2 weeks for prints. It’s that simple.
So why would you go to a studio where you’ll have your shoot in June and see your proofs in September?
Your Shoot
It’s all about the photo shoot. Some people want to spend hours. Some people want to be in and out in 45 minutes. I know everyone is different so I have 3 different photo shoot choices which (so far) has worked out great for everyone.
With every shoot I give you FREE digital copies of your photos to use on websites like Facebook and MySpace. I also submit your yearbook photos directly to your school at no additional charge.
The Ultimate Shoot
If you want everything under the sun, then the Ultimate shoot is for you. A shoot lasting up to 3 hours, the Ultimate includes unlimited outfits and locations. You can use locations of your choice (or mine – I know a TON of awesome places to take photos), up to 20 miles from the studio. Additionally, the Ultimate Shoot can be split into 2 different days which can be a good choice if you want to try different hair styles, etc.
Cost of the shoot: FREE!
A minimum print purchase of $850 is required to book an Ultimate Shoot.
The Superstar Shoot
The Superstar is our most popular senior shoot. A shoot lasting up to 2 hours, the Superstar gives you unlimited outfits and locations(again, your choice or mine). It gives enough us enough time time to give a great variety of looks, poses and outfits and parents love it because it fits into almost any budget.
Cost of the shoot: FREE!
A minimum print purchase of $575 is required to book a Superstar Shoot.
The Essentials Shoot
If you want a great variety of poses but don’t need to wear a ton of different outfits or need a dozen different locations, you will love the Essentials Shoot. The shoot lasts up to 1 hour and also offers unlimited outfits (but keep time in mind – you don’t want to spend 30 minutes of your session changing clothes and fixing your hair).
Cost of the shoot: FREE!
A minimum print purchase of $395 is required to book an Essentials Shoot.
The Basic Shoot
If you just want the basic formal photo and a couple outdoor portraits, the Basic Shoot might take care of what you need. The shoot itself lasts 30 minutes and clients can wear 2 outfits (one for the formal, one for the outdoor shots).
Cost of the shoot: FREE!
A minimum print purchase of $200 is required to book an Essentials Shoot.
Above all, I want to make sure your photo shoot is FUN! I won’t force you into a box where your photos look identical to everyone else’s. Before the shoot, we’ll discuss locations and outfits and I’ll personally design the shoot to fit your wants and needs and to compliment your personality.
Your Prints
I offer both print collections and a la carte ordering. See, it’s the best of both worlds! You can also buy a collection and add additional items a la carte. Basically, I’ll let you do whatever the heck you want. That’s just how I roll.
